My daughter’s just announced her wedding date next year which is great.  I started thinking about my wedding day which although it was 34 years ago in some respects it actually doesn’t seem that long ago.   But looking at my own wedding photographs, it's pretty obvious that I’m not the slim, young man my wife married all those years ago.  Time has flown but not just for me.

Like Pierce Brosnan, I have to admit that my abs are more rippling than ripped.

Like Richard Gere, my once firm 6 pack is now a wobbly 12 pack

Like Val Kilmer,  I’m past being described as “cute”.  Being harshly honest, “cuddly”  would be a kinder, more accurate description.
The bottom line is if I want to look my best in my daughter’s wedding photographs, I had better do something about it.  I’ve never dieted in my life so this is going to be a shock to the system.   The wedding date was announced at the start of January and it's taken me a month to accept that I’m going to have to get around to going on a diet.  And what have I learnt this month - just  thinking about losing weight doesn’t get results.    I’ll keep you posted on my next step.
